Note: Refer to your platform documentation to verify that the operating system versions listed

below are supported on the computer you intend to install Intel Server Manager on. Some Intel

Server Boards may not support the versions listed below.

Server computers

The following requirements are for servers running the Intel Server Manager server console,

Primary Agents, and One-boot Flash Update (OFU).

For servers with only the Intel Server Manager Bridge Agent installed, OS requirements are the

same, but only 10 MB disk space is required to install the Bridge Agent. TCP/IP must be properly

configured, and a BMC is required.

To manage servers with a BMC but no Intel Server Manager software installed, software

requirements do not apply.

• Windows 2000 Server SP4, Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4, Windows 2003

Enterprise Server SP1, Windows XP Professional with SP2 (only on Intel Server Board

SE7525GP2, Intel Server Board SE7525RP2, and Intel Server Platforms supported in-

band by Intel Server Manager 8.40 with Intel® Pentium® 4 processors)

• 256 MB of RAM recommended

• 45 MB of available hard drive space to install

• 40-100 MB of available hard drive space to run (depending on cluster size)

• A network adapter with properly configured TCP/IP

• Internet Explorer 6.x SP1 or later (Windows), or Mozilla 1.5 or later (Linux only)

• Macromedia* Flash player is required for some graphic elements to display. Adobe

Acrobat* Reader is needed to view documentation. If these are not previously installed

they can be downloaded as needed via an Internet connection.

Note: Refer to the Getting Started with Intel Server Manager 8.40 manual for information on

installing the packages, lm-sensors, and configuring the mysql and ftp users.
