MANAGING SYSTEM INVENTORY
OS event log
Use the OS event log page to view a log of the most recent operating system events from the
selected computer. You can select one of the following three views:
Application
System
Security
Each section has four columns of information.
Type—The type of event that occurred. The four types are informational, warning, error,
and critical.
Date—The date and time the event occurred.
Source—The application or service from which the event initiated.
Description—A detailed description of the event. The description may include corrective
action taken by the system or text to resolve the error.
To open the OS event log
Click System, then click OS event log.
PCI Hot Plug Devices
Intel Server Manager allows you to check the status for devices installed into PCI Hot Plug Slots
in the managed server.
Note: Currently, only Intel® Server Board SE7520AF2 and Intel Server Board Set SE8500HW4
running Microsoft Windows supports PCI Hot Plug slots. Check the Intel Server Manager
Release Notes for the latest information on platform support.
PCI hot plug slot sensor information
You can view the following for devices installed into PCI hot plug slots:
Class Code—The general name of the device (e.g. Ethernet Controller).
Manufacturer—The organization responsible for creating the device.
Device Present—Indicates whether the device is physically plugged into the slot.
To view information about devices in PCI hot plug slots (Microsoft Windows)
In the left pane of the server console, click System, then click PCI Hot Plug Devices.
